Puckett Homes branding + squarespace website design
Puckett Homes creates custom built forever homes in the Pacific Northwest. The overall brand vision was to create a custom, strong, warm and timeless brand.
LOGO, COLOURS & PATTERN
During the mood board phase, there was a heavy accent on mountain and adventure type images. This paired with the audience of a masculine, outdoor loving male, inspired the use of a strong type, as well as incorporating the mountain into the logo.
The deep colors on the mood board were a big inspiration for the color palette. Because the audience is a more masculine one, and nature oriented, I included a lot of blues, but also balanced it out with a bright green to give some pop, and a burnt orange similar to what you would see on bark, or the middle of the forest.
Because strong and trust were such big parts of the brand foundation, I chose a bold font for the main part of the logo, and as part of all your headlines. And paired it with a nice traditional font to balance it out, but also resonate with your ideal client. These are fonts that are familiar to them and are often seen in traditional design.
The wood grain pattern was a strong image in the mood board, but also for the base, foundation and root of what Puckett Homes does. I thought I was important to incorporate into the brand, in a strong way and have used a nice light color paired with the deep blue.
The lines in the front door were also very prevalent in the mood board, so I used that as a base for a pattern as well (as you can see in the homeowners manual cover). The third pattern takes inspiration from the lines of the mountains, creating a more abstract pattern.
I really liked the idea of bringing in some whisky elements into the design. A lot go whisky labels are designed with lines to break up the text, and also tabs as seals on the cap of the bottle. I incorporated some of these design elements into the business card and homeowners manual.
Custom Squarespace Website Design
The main goal of the website was to showcase their custom work, and develop that authority and trust factor with their audience. We used the bold type of the brand, and infused the new design elements throughout the site. The navigation was simple, with a call to action on each and every page encouraging users to continue to interact with the website and take the next step.
SUMMARY & WRAP-UP
Throughout the brand foundation process we determined we needed to create a timeless, masculine, strong and warm brand that would appeal to their ideal audience of a middle aged man, looking to build his forever home.
